Australia is the most amazing place in the world (yes were a bit biased) for backpacking. With so much to do and see the only problem youll have is not wanting to leave!
If you are coming to Australia on a backpacking trip, you are in for one of the most amazing experiences of your life. No doubt, you will have a lot on your mind; what to do, where to stay, how to commute, how much to spend etc.
Here at Infinity Attraction we see a whole lot of backpackers coming through our doors chasing the Infinity trip, so we thought we would put together a helpful couple of tips for making the most of your Australian backpacking trip.
Money
Depending on where you are coming from and where you plan on staying will determine how much money you need to budget for. Knowing your exchange rate is vital for working-out how much money you need. Next step is working out the locations you plan to visit.
Sydney and Melbourne are some of the most expensive cities in the Southern Hemisphere. If you plan on spending long periods of time in these cities, be prepared to fork out a little more.
Use a no fee credit card to avoid exchange fees, cash out charges and other hidden nasties. If you dont have a credit card, consider opening an Australian bank account and transfer as much money into that as you can.
Sun Cream
Australia is HOT! Lots of visitors (from other hot countries) often say that the sun is different here in Australia. This is because Australia is close to a hole in the ozone layer, which means we are exposed to more UV radiation than any other country in the world. If you havent heard the term Slip Slop Slap prior to coming to Australia, youll know what it means by the time you leave.
Drive
The population of California in the USA is about the same as the whole of Australia, so in comparison there isnt really a lot of people here. Which means public transport isnt as necessary as it is in more populated countries. This is a great thing if you want to see the real side of Australia! Go on an amazing adventure up tropical bush tracks, round coastal roads and through majestic deserts all on your own schedule.
Chat
Us Aussies, we love a chat. Dont be afraid to ask anyone you see for directions, general advice or anything you need help with. Our laid back personality is infectious and we love to tell a great story! If youre really nice, we might even tell you about the secret spots most tourists dont know about.
Plan
Knowing where your going is one thing, but knowing what youll do when you get there is another. The Gold Coast is probably the best example of this, being the holiday capital of Australia with so much to do and see.
Golden beaches, theme parks, amazing nightlife and scenery like nowhere else; the Gold Coast is hard to pass by. With the Commonwealth Games coming up in 2018 the Gold Coast is going to be a bustling city that never sleeps and there has never been a better time to visit.
Infinity Attraction is an absolute must on the to do list when visiting the Gold Coast. Challenge your senses with mind-blowing mazes that toy with your perception of reality. Infinity Attraction on the Gold Coast will make you feel like youve entered another dimension and have you coming back for more!
