Infinity Gold Coast

Are you a parent who’s constantly Googling “things to do with kids”? Well you’ll be relieved to hear you’re not alone! Keeping kids occupied, whether it’s a weekend or the school holidays, can be a full time, tiring job. Kids want to be constantly entertained, have a short attention span, and just when you think you’ve found something they enjoy, they’re over it and no longer enjoy it.

Being a parent, and in the tourism industry myself, I’m always looking for new things to do with my kids, so in this article I thought I would share some of my personal favourite things to do with kids.

Visit Surfers Paradise

Did you know September is Kids Week in Surfers Paradise? Presented by Zagames Paradise Resort in the Gold Coast, this family-friendly event is designed to celebrate all things about kids. Take your children with you and let them have an eventful LEGO Day, Craft Day, Dance & Music Day, Animal Day, and Superheroes & Fairytale Day. There will also be a circus during weekdays and free 40-minute classes including trapeze & aerial ring. On September 26, there will be amazing fireworks that you simply cannot afford to miss. Watch with your kids as the sky above Surfers Paradise Beach is filled with wonderful colours firing from the waves, starting from 7pm.

While you’re in Surfers Paradise, do something that is truly unique — visit us here at Infinity Gold Coast. From about $16 a child  ticket, I’m sure this is one activity is one you’ll be glad you added to your own ‘things to do with kids’ list (and it’s great for kids parties!). Our one-of-a-kind Gold Coast attraction will take you and your kids into the world of the unknown. Infinity features 20 amazing worlds that come with mind-blowing multi-sensual environments that are filled with special effects and illusions, ultra-groovy music and atmospheric sound fields. Watch your children goof around and giggle at the same time as they make their way to infinity. Infinity does recommend the experience for ages 8years and over.

Visit Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

This is definitely one of the best things to do with kids whether you’re visiting the Gold Coast or a local. If your kids love exploring and enjoy seeing different types of animals, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary will give them the best day of their lives. Being the Gold Coast’s leading native wildlife sanctuary, it is here where you can find hundreds of native Australian animals in rainforest and their natural bushland surroundings. It’s the best place to go if you want your children to experience getting closer to the region’s amazing native wildlife.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is one of Queensland’s heritage listed sites that offers a long list of displays and daily wildlife show that will surely leave your children in awe. Kids will have the opportunity to feed a wild lorikeet, cuddle a koala, and get up close and personal with snakes, birds, and they will even get the chance to feed kangaroos.

Visit Cararra Markets

Visit the Gold Coast’s largest markets where you’ll find face painting, kids adventure rides, pony rides and also King Tutts Putt Putt where the kids can enjoy a game of Putt Putt Golf. Carrara Markets, which is located near Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise, is the biggest permanent marketplace in the country. It’s great not just for kids but also for mums who love to shop.

While your kids are participating in some activities, you can start shopping for homewares, fresh produce, souvenirs, and even arts and crafts.

Visit the Broadwater Parklands at Southport

Enjoy the jumping pillow and ‘The Rockpools’ at this free playground that is perfect for the whole family. Offering wide variety of recreational activities, your kids can definitely spend a whole day here without getting bored. You can have barbecues and picnics, rent a bike to explore the beauty of Southport foreshore, and they can even swim. Your kids will also enjoy fishing off the pier and the wide-open spaces that are perfect for playing or running.
